Rory Cosgrove heard his first rock n' roll song while still in the womb, as his parents made sure to expose him to their favorite sounds from the outside world. At 18 months old, some of his first steps drew him in fascination to the sights and sounds of Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box" music video, heard playing on MTV from across the hall.
Since then, Rory's love for music never disappeared, but grew stronger than ever when he played his first note on the guitar at age 14 - and that note never faded. By this time, Rory had already enjoyed a habit of singing original lyrics with melodies, and the guitar was the perfect ingredient to complete the concoction.
Throughout his high school years, Rory's hobby of songwriting became a passion, and his previously self-taught guitar skills evolved tremendously with the help of his insightful music theory teachers.
Bringing this background forward, Rory has come to the realization that passion, emotion, and honesty seem to be scarce in today's popular music. Rory is a singer, guitar player, and songwriter driven to write by his deepest feelings. His music is the reflection of this - when he writes a song, he's simply trying to capture his emotions in musical form. His goal is simple: to make the kind of music that comes from the heart, and moves people when they hear it - and feel it. His new EP release titled: "Angels and Dreams," is the ultimate culmination of who Rory has become as a writer, a musician, and a person so far...
